Futral to the Rescue
Soprano Elizabeth Futral will sing in the upcoming production of 'Hamlet' with the Washington National Opera, performing in the role of Ophelia. She is a last-minute replacement for Diana Damrau, who had to withdrawl due to her pregnancy. 'Hamlet' will be conducted in-part by Placido Doming, with whom Futral has had long-time working relationship.

The Nelsens Take New York City Opera
Last weekend was quite the exciting weekend for mezzo soprano Nina Yoshida Nelsen and her husband Jeff Nelsen. Nina made her New York City Opera debut Friday night, singing Suzuki in Madama Butterfly to rave reviews, while Jeff, unexpectedly debuted with the orcestra as well.
