Known for his versatility and comic timing, Tracy Wise possesses a powerful, lyrical voice and a true sense of stagecraft. Upcoming performances in the 2008 - 2009 season for Mr. Wise include Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus and Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, both with Dallas Opera. Recently, he performed the Tanzmeister in Ariaden auf Naxos with Utah Opera and Gastone in La traviata with Opera Theater of Saint Louis. Mr. Wise was well received as Peter Quint in Turn of the Screw with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and has also sung the servants in the student cast of Les Contes d’Hoffmann with Dallas Opera and Tanzmeister in the mainstage production of Ariadne auf Naxos with Dallas Opera, as well as Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte with Utah Opera.

Other past performances include Punin and Zoschenko in Mel Marvin’s Guest from the Future with Bard Summerscape, Pang in Turandot with Virginia Opera, Spoletta in Tosca and the First Jew in Salome with Fort Worth Opera, Truffaldino in Love for Three Oranges with the Chicago Cultural Center, and Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Chicago Opera Theater, where he has also sung Don Luigino and the cover of Belfiore in Il Viaggio a Reims, the Glass Maker and the cover of Aschenbach in Death in Venice, and Lucano and Primo Soldato in L’Incoronazione di Poppea. He has also performed Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the High Priest in Idomeneo at the Boston Opera Institute, Korczak in the premiere of Silverman’s Korczak’s Orphans with the Real Time Opera, Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Iro in Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria with Boston Baroque, Arnalta in L’Incoronazione di Poppea and Ferrando in Così fan tutte with Opera North.

Trained in Ballet with the Boston Ballet and in Commedia dell’Arte movement at Scuola Internazionale dell’Attore Comico, Tracy has been a young artist with Opera North and Chicago Opera Theater, and has performed community concerts with Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Providence and Boston Bel Canto Opera.

His Oratorio works includes The Creation with the Melbourne Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Mozart Requiem with the Orchestra Seattle, and Handel’s Messiah with Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra.
